But then i thought it needs a full respray so i could do any colour, was thinking about old english white with a black roof like this... but would it look crap as mine is a mk 3/4? (i dunno its an 86)

or a plain gun metal grey? but then with just chrome starmags would look a lil plain?

I think it looks pretty damn good, you just need 10's, Mk2 rear lights, a Mk1 Cooper grille, normal headlamps, normal bumpers with over riders and corner bars, normal mirrors (bullets would look good but you cant see anything out of them), some less bubbly arches and a badge on the back and it's a goodun

Be mindful you can't polish out a scratch on a matte or satin paint job. Maybe go for a vinyl wrap as scratches just melt away in the sun back to looking new.

dont want tens as i have already payed for wheels and tyres and new calipers and pads hahha, i had 10" slotmags, gorgeous. if i have mk2 lights wont i need a reverse lamp? plus i like the all reds and the headlight covers. i wanted to de-bumper but to much effort so bumpers are going black and i have bullet mirrors, might get standard cooper ones but in black and i need wider arches because i have wide wheels with spacers. hahahah like the complete oposite of what you said.
cheers for the opinion though, all have our own taste (:

Big trouble asking for others opinion, its so hard to come up with the right choice! I did a 1971 mini years ago and checked out so many swatches from purple to white and stuck with the factory teal blue!

I am at present looking for a project and I have my heart set on gloss black, the shinier the better, roof and all so that's what I would go with!

I personally believe that non standard colours are not so popular cars to sell, appreciated by many but not in great demand. zany colour schemes look great at the shows and on the road get noticed but they don't seem to sell well.

So in summary I would tend to keep with a colour scheme which looks like it could have been original!

I recon if your keeping the bumpers (I think you should) carbon vinyl wrapping them would look sweet! see this link, its where I get all my vinyl! http://www.mdpsuppli...tailscarbon.asp you could also do cooper or other mirrors like this! use of a heat gun and a bit of practice and its not so difficult to do yourself!

BORING! although OEW and black roof is a nice traditional colour choice on mini, do something different!

My next mini I'm going to do brown, but think brown would only look good sitting on 10s.

What about matte grey? I never really liked it till my mate got his clio 197 wrapped in it. Now I love it and on a mini I reckon it'll look awesome with a black roof and wheels, with a decent drop and mk2 rear lights.

Or a nice shade of blue.
