My car is about to go and be restored as well, and I am in the same boat as you in being unable to choose a colour for it. It is red at the moment and part of me wants to keep it original (although I prefer Tartan red to Flame red) but part of me wants something completely new. I also can't decide whether to keep the car looking originally in terms of arches etc or make a few subtle changes. I'm not worried about retail value, I just think original cars can look so good. I love so many different colour combinations I just can't choose. I don't think the GF will accept that as any excuse to buy 3 or 4 minis though!

As for your photo shops above, the third pic looks amazing. The W&P arches with the Mk 1 grille looks great.

i think purple :)

on a more serious note i like the white all over, i personally think it would look a tad shabby with the black roof.

Its strange to me how many people are suggesting mods that will only devalue your car and what i would normally associate with the saxo/corsa scene such as vinyl wraps and carbon fibre etc etc. These people are suggesting these things trying to be different, but by trying to be different are actually being the same as everyone else! How ironic. Original is best.

OP's idea was gloss/satin black or what ever it is, not exactly original colour itself is it...

Unless you spend a lot of money, it is pretty hard to be different with a mini. The car has been around for so long and modified so much that almost everything has been done before. Therefore, all you can really do, is pick the little bits you like best from all that you have seen and put the together to make a car you are happy with.

If having a higher resale value is more important, original is usually better. If personalisation is more important to you, then pick your favourite mods to make.

I wanted something different when i had my Old english white mini resprayed, everyone seems to go go for black or red roof so i went for a brown metalic roof, mirrors & wheel centres. :D

I like OEW, who doesn't, but if I had a mini ready for it's paint I wouldn't be looking at OEW unless I was really set on it. I prefer completely original minis, always have, always will, but so many minis are OEW now. I hate wraps but I'd rather be looking at matte grey mini than the 10 OEW minis beside it. Any other matte paint looks gash though.

dont think i want a matte colour though :/ mainly because i like a shine to a car and it can make it look tacky if the car isnt exspensive like and audi or bmw.

think im just guna stick to glass black and cream, never seen it before and it was my first choice

Just be warned black is a bastard to keep clean.

But it will look epic, especially if you have matching cream wheel centres.

One of the best looking black minis I have seen is Juju's Matilda. If you can find the before and after picks on that, its amazing.

You can see here

Theres no point trying to be unique or different, as it's all been done on Minis before, so you might as well go for whatever YOU like.
