Hmmm bit torn on this one, but looks like one of our minis has to go in the New Year so this is a heads up to any TMF'ers who may be interested

1999 John Cooper Le ...250 made to celebrate the 40th year of the mini. Of those 250 cars to celebrate 40 years since John Cooper won the Formula 1 constructors championship 25 were pulled out by Sir John Cooper himself and given the JCG treatment including all nice shiney JCG extras and most importantly the S Works conversion

Reportedly (tongue in cheek) 90bhp

Paddy is 5/25 ever made

One of the few JCG cars to receive a commemorative plaque on the front of the glovebox stating which one of the 25 you own

Very special little car, with 44k on the clock, full service history most of which was done at the JCG garage up untill their closure. Great file with magazine articles about the model, both sets of keys, list of previous owners, most bills, old MOT certificates, lots of bumff and info about this mini

Works conversion certificate signed by John Cooper himself

Private number plate

Brooklands Green
Alloy dash
JCG pedals, gear knob, door furniture
Grenadine red leather interior

Hes stunning, but not perfect! No major issues as we keep on top of things but he isnt concourse

Lots of pics of him on TMF, just search the Max And Paddy thread

Only seen a few for sale and the last one went for £9500 (they asked £9995 and I rang about it) within a week of going on the market and it wasnt as nice and didnt have the history Paddy has :P

I'l be advertising Paddy for the same amount and including the number plate

So who are you going to be then MaxAnd? I think selling a Mini should be punishable by death, but maybe that's a bit harsh!. Good luck (sort of) with the sale.

Tough decision but 2 rare JCG minis is making us ummmm and errrrr, plus I need another all year round car now youngest son has started school, and we're still tempted by an older mini!!!!

Might change my mind before the New year though :shifty:

Phew, as that brown one is very over priced and not that original.

I've used a 2002 Cooper for the last 100,000 miles as a commuting car. If I drive carefully I can get 35mpg out of it, 40 with a following wind. If I drive it like a loon the consumption has been as low as 27.

I saw something somewhere about a comparison between a BINI petrol and diesel, this was from new, that you actually would have to drive I think 70,000 miles before you started saving money because its a diesel, as they cost more new and also diesel costs more than petrol etc etc,

not sure how it compares to buying used but I would go for a petrol as a daily, (also doesn't sound like a trac'or)
