Customer came in, wanted his rear brakes overhauled.
Trevor took on the job, and did everything that was needed to do, took it for a test drive... fine. Job done.
Then, 6 months later the customer came back for his MOT, no rear brakes at all.
When on the ramp, we found Trev's brake pipe clamps still on lol He denied it at first (typical of him) then was proven wrong as the brake pipe clamps had his name engraved on them!
Was pretty funny, but abit stupid ahahaha

When I had to have a new tyre for the mini the guy put the tyre on the rim and found it wouldn't fit. He came back and said that I must have odd wheels on my mini. I went and had a look at it on the tyre machine to find that the guy was trying to fit a R10 tyre to a 12" rim. He was so apologetic afterwards and that he wouldn't get the wheel back to me when he said he would, that when he did sort it he let me have it free of charge. Not a really a bad experience it just made me laugh. He had just assumed my mini had 10's and ordered in a R10 tyre.

She was then told it would be fine to drive with 2wheels only held on with 2 nuts. Out of 5
They don't call it quick fit for no reason

Mum was out in dads 4x4 when she had a blowout. Went to quick fit to get a new set of tyres as dad said may as well, basically they ruind the threads on all studs & told my mum a couple of her wheel nuts needed replacing.

Kwik fit? More like sh*t fit.

Dont know if kwik fit still operate that way but i think it used to be fairly common.
Ford dealers arent much better, tried to have my dad over for a set of pads and discs and a new clutch/flywheel telling him it would be dangerous to drive it otherwise. I asked them to demonstrate how they had checked the wear on the clutch whilst it had been in their workshop for only around 45 minutes, they then said that it must be worn right down as the car had done 80k miles at that point. the clutch got changed at around 120k and even then it wasnt badly worn.

Jamie Hart (aka Jay) on Charfleets industrial estate (Canvey) He makes out he is a mini specialist when all he does is take money for jobs and not spend it on the parts needed.. when the time comes for repairing the car he often used old parts or gets his dad to do it.
There have been a few times where he has promised customers that work has been done on their vehicles.. Its often left a friend of mine to pick up the pieces (those who were often at the yard will know who i mean)
He did the same to me and actually left me (as a paying customer) and my friend to do the work to my mini! Lets just say my friend got the cash!
so glad you said this! i had a falling out with him and scott unfortunatly, jamie was twisting many of the storys, so if you do see scott, send him an apology his way :)
needless to say i heard jamies working in a cafe now?
i was actually at the garage whilst your mini was in.. jay touched nothing but obviously told you he had.. by the time my mate realised it had been waiting so long i think people had started to get a bit irate. needless to say my friend got things sorted as quick as he could.. even though he works nights full time.
pop round to his new unit some time.. its actually productive work going on!

he even told the mechanic who had my key not to hand it back to me, just looked at him and put my hand out, just got a bit of a smile from him as he handed me my key. one of the advantages of looking like someone you shouldn't mess with
