Some one broke into my 106 gti once and stole the induction kit once. Yours beats this hands down though!

Are you sure it's your head they left behind and not their old one?

Good point.

Surely the idea of a thief 'part-exchaging' their old head is even more bizarre??

This seems personal to me.
Strange not to take the whole car and strip it elsewhere.
This is someone who knows you. They had to be able to be there for hrs and not worry about being caught.
Is this a joke from mates or have you upset anyone?
I have never heard of a crime like it.

a neighbour told me they seen me outside my house at like 1am on saturday, but i was away out drinking at that time so this must have been when they took it all. the mini is back up and running, all the parts cost me a fortune, anyone got ideas of extra security i could put on the mini to stop it happening again ?

Check for oily finger print marks & Chain your bonnet to the bottom of the subframe so you only accsess it from underneath & won't see it easily

I had a part exchange thief once be the end of 1995 now. I had the colour coded red door mirror casings removed from my Nova SR and replaced with faded mottled black plastic ones, they even unscrewed my roof mounted antenna (it had a curly twist wrapped around the main aerial) they replaced it for a smooth shafted non curly type. All v weird O_O

Bizarre and taking things to a different level. I can almost imagine the thought process. "Wheels? Nahhh nicked some like that last week, Stereo Nahhh nicked one out of a Saxo wicked yesterday, I know lets whip the head off and nick all of the bits off it." This was not a five minute job either.
