I have just stripped down my 998 A+ and am in the process of rebuilding it.
I am replacing the chain, oil pump, crank big ends and main bearings. However, can so one give me a list of what parts are single use, like the lock washers, crank bolt etc.
This is based on a full rebuild, I'm not leaving anything the chance so am replacing most things.
Obviously I will get a full engine and gearbox gasket set too.
Also what parts are recommended to change, the water pump is not that old but i figured its worth doing it now!
Do the followers or push rods need changing, none of them are marked or scored.
Thanks
Alex

A complete engine and G/box gasket set, clutch case to block gasket, head gasket, oil pump gasket, complete lock tab set, you will need crank thrusts, mains shells, big end shells, cam shells, 8 new tappets, 8 new push rods,.........

With regards to the pushrods and followers I would change them but its up to you mate if they arent showing any scoring or signs of wear then you could get away with puttin them back in. Do check the pushrods are straight though because ive seen many a bent pushrod.

Would recommend only reusing cam followers if there are no signs of any pitting on the face, and you can be totally sure you are replacing them in exactly the same order they came out. Otherwise use new followers, they are not expensive.
As zippye says, the pushrods are fine to reuse as long as they are straight.

Cool, thanks!
Is there a pack of lock washers etc, or do they have to be bought individually, not a problem if the do, I was thinking more for ease.

I wouldn't get new followers unless they are really dead. New followers on an old cam isn't good on the lobes!
