
What To Paint Subframes With?

Hammerite? Not that cheap and probably will chip off
Same paint as the body of the car?
Stone chip and then body colour?
You tell me?

Etch prime ( good few coats)
Chassis black (must be chassis black, really tough paint)
Will stick as hard as Crap to a blanket:P

No. Chips easier, bares the metal. Then rusts.. I wouldn't powder coat a subframe.

Get them hot dip galvanised! Then paint with the above mentioned chassis black. Then they'll probably out-live the human race!
These a guy about 500 yards down from my house that sand blasting & hot dip galzing my subframe for £50 a frame :)

People have thought about this, there is some consern that the roves involved may deform the subframes slightly. Something to do with the heating cooling process.
But then again... I have seen ads of Landy chassis being galvanised... Hmm

but first i read up on it & maintained it can last over 50 years. well worth £100.
Also had a word about warping & he comfirmed that there shouldnt be any problem.
