I've also got one that never got fitted to an RS200 before I got rid still sat on top of the wardrobe in my spare bedroom. If anyone happens to know someone with an RS200 or MkI Sierra who wants one cheap....

So how do you wire these up then?

As my screen is chipped quite badly and has been key'd by some pikey youth... Clearly they are worth the upgrade, as the fan blowers aimed at the screen are about as much use as a fart in a space suit.

Moss do wiring kits, id be tempted as ny wiring skills are only basic, I think they're worth the upgrade on what I've heard, especially if they're the same technology ad some modern cars, my stepdad has heated windscreen on his mondeo, gets windscreen clear in few mins even with some ice on :D

Not an original but close. I loved the idea of a 4x4 rally monster for the road - the reality and practicality of the RS200 however....... They are a great motor but too many hard to obtain parts (even the bits just pinched from the other cars in the Ford lineup at the time are becoming scarce) and a bit too specialised to be entirely happy doing anything other than 100mph sideways down a forest track.

I bought a Focus rally car shell with some of the proceeds and the plan is to build it as a road car. It'll have an ST170 half leather interior and apart from the bonnet nostrils most people won't realise that it's 4 wheel drive with around 200 ponies on tap thanks to nice Mr Cosworth (BOA 24v V6). Engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes etc. is all sat there - I just need time to put it all together. Should be a bit more sensible than the 200 for touring in, having a rear seat and a boot whilst still having the ability to satisfy my hooligan urges (circa 400bhp is easily achievable from the engine with the addition of a turbo and no internal modifications - more is possible with a pair of turbos but that much boost means strengthening rods and lowering the compression).

If you do organise a group buy I would be interested in a Monte Carlo style one.

Got mine from Mini Spares and a neat wiring kit from Somerford, watch out for the Monte ones if your tall! You can end up looking straight at the silver bar!
