I've seen copper fail.

If you choose to use it however, that's up to you. Please be sure not to drive behind me though

at work (main dealer) we use copper, my minis got pipe made from copper as have most of my current and previous cars. the only 1 failure i have had out of proberly 500 odd brake pipes was on my 106 when the brake pipe came uncliped when caught on some hard snow, once it was unclipped it shook around and vibrated until it broke.

in my mini i will have done 20k miles over the last 4 years and that includes sprints, hillclimbs, rallies and alot of autotest. the brakes get used alot and very heavily and the pipes are fine. if copper wasnt safe they wouldnt sell it!

Ah, the delusion of safety when in fact your pipes are accumulating fatigue damage every single time you use the brakes. Because they have not failed yet does not make them safe. And, why do you thing that just because copper is unsafe, no-one would sell it? They will sell anything that is profitable.

is there any substantial evidence to back this up ?
