They look like Copper too. We prefer Copper/Nickel. More expensive, but a much better material.

............ apparently it's because the price of copper has gone up.............
That's not a great excuse. The cost of the material for those few pipes is next to nothing.

but the cheap tools are supposed to break easy thats why i didn't buy my ownI'm sure you could have bought the tool, a few m or pipe and the ends for a similar price. They are really easy to make if you buy the tool.

thats why i got them made up in the first place but didn't realise the cost of some little pipesYeah, the decent tools are in the region of £130. The cheap ones tend to rotate on the pipe and can chew the metal. And you need to have several dies for the different fittings.
may be obvious but why is copper not legal ?if they are copper, take them back and tell them to make some from cunifer. Copper is not legal in this country as it is not safe to use. Cunifer is what is generally used.

The flaring tool I got was no more than 30£, came with a set of different size dies, a pipe cutter and all the other bits required and it works just fine. I got it at Halfords, afair.
I'm aware the UK is a different market, but in Switzerland, if you have something made, it is going to cost you dearly no matter what it is. Labour is ridiculously expensive. You wouldn't have got these pipes for 50£ here, not even close. So by UK standards 50£ may be a ripoff, by Swiss standards, you made a good deal.

I doubt they're copper. It's hard to tell the difference between cunifer and copper if the pipe is brand new and untarnished from simply looking at it.
