i dont think there is any point using the M1144 pads. they work just as well as any standard road pad except the dont suffer from fade under heavy use when they get really hot. i doubt you will be tearing around so much as to need them. your standard 8.4" discs and road pads will be more than enough to stop you. it sounds like you need to service your brakes thoroughly IMO.

Having used both, and on the same day, before and after changing, I can tell you they are worlds apart and not just when braking hard. The pedal feel is much improved, 'bite' even when cold is definate and they pull up much quicker. Before I felt like I had to put my foot through the floor, now it's much more progressive.

I took a short trip down the M5 today and came back home with these, I somehow managed to forget the break shoes so it looks like another trip tomorrow ;-)
