Jus a few pics of the engine :)

The engine is basically done apart from having to put the new flywheel and clutch in. Hopefully it will be here by Wednesday.

Then it's engine back in car and getting this new ECU wired up and get the car run in.
The new camshaft has also been timed in so we are gettin there

lightened Flywheel and turbo clutch kit should be with us on Monday, tuesday at worst. Its basically the final large part to go back into the engine. Then it can be put on and the engine put back into the car. Should see a lot more progress on this end of next week.

Got these bits in the post. Theres the nice new rocker cover for the engine bay. Looks sweet!!

I went up today to give my man the rocker cover. Lightened flywheel and clutch kit from MED came yesterday. He got it in car last night! He was working at the engine bay when I went up earlier on today. Cleaning the inside and getting wires etc sorted out for they are all a tangled mess from whoever last had the engine

He will have the engine in by the end of today. It wont be wired up etc but it will be in the car ready for this next stage!! Exciting times

Engine is now in!!!

The new rocker cover I got looks like it wont fit. It seems to be catchin the rolling rockers inside so we may have to use a metro turbo rocker cover he has but we will wait and see.

Exhaust and all in bolted on and radiator is plumbed in. Gear linkage has been conected and the gear stick goes into all gears no problems so far.

The rest of the plumbing and electrics still need connected up. Including this new ECU. So still a while to go yet before the engine fires up again. I will be phoning him on monday to see how things are going.

Keep your eye on this thread next week or so. Shouldnt be too long now I hope. Getting excited!!

Almost finished Chris!!! It turned out that we needed the Mpi fuel pump! We had mixed reports so my guy decided to try it without but the spi fuel pump makin terrible whine! Only puts out 1.2 bar. Mpi puts out 2.8 - 3.2 bar.

This should arrive early next week. Put it in, put on rollers and run her in. I hope to get the car end of next week all goin well!!!

Thats how mine is running at the mo, mpi tank with a aftermarket mpi fuel pump. Works well but I think I might get a wee bit of fuel surge when braking hard. However this could be something else. Let me know how yours goes once it's up and running.

Problems!! lol

Engines al in, mpi fuel pump in and working well

Mapping not so well.

The ecu is opening throttle fully when the pedal is only down 50% so the guy couldn't get it mapped. He tried few things to fix it but no luck so he has to call the guys at SC to find out what the problem is whether its a mapping issue or a faulty sensor or something.

He wont be working on car now til Monday night at the earliest!!

Other news:

I have stripped the wheel arches off the car to get them sprayed next week. So atleast by end of next week, I should have running engine hopefully and nice red arches to match my red car lol

Nitemare!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like he needs to set the Throttle sensor parameters or maybe the sensor is knackered. One thing I would also recommend you to get an adjustable engine steady to replace the standard top one as the air filter just touches the bulk head on mine and it's slowly cut through the filter so I will now need a new one. Apart from that mine was all already set and just needed mapping.

Chris.

I believe there is a fault as the lads tried for 2 hrs to get it sorted via the ecu and they know their stuff.

He phoned him on fri to hopefully get an ans to the problem.

Hopin it's an easy fix but prob ain't and of course time ticks on! Grrrrr
