I have to say, that despite the miss match ECU, if you use the right bits, the standard cooper ecu will be fine. Dont know how much more I'll get out of the ecu change, the octane booster did its majic. Cooper ecu and Megasqirt to be tested within the next months.

Remember that its no use going beyond the Kent 274 cam of which you have two choices. Anything else wont fuel correctly, and i have found that the ecu is not realy that bad. This engine pulls like a train with a 17.5 sec at 76.4mph over the quarter in fairly mild tune.

78.5 bananas and 78 curly whurlies and the speedo is only 3.5% out at 70 zoomers.

LOTS more to come.

53 bananas at the wheels

Forgot to increase the tyre pressures so the drag is a little high

That was the standard factory figure at the flywheel

Are you using the original injector assembly with a non standard injector or have you replaced the whole unit?

Changed the injector assembly, but the housings are the same, the injectors are interchangeble. It was just easier to change over the whole thingh

Have you simply increased the bore and modified the injection system? Or are there head, bottom end mods etc? Whats on the cards next? Are you trying to get as much out of an injection setup as you can?

Yes

are there head, bottom end mods etc?

Not yet other than the kent MD274 cam

Whats on the cards next?

Stage three head, MD274SP cam, high ratio rockers, right ECU, maybe even Megasquirt. Realy need to dial in the cam better, its 2 degrees out from spec.

Are you trying to get as much out of an injection setup as you can?

Oh yes!, cant go too mad with it as it will become pants to drive and emissions will be an issue. MD274SP cam is as far as you should go on any of the injection engines.

Trying to brake the 100bhp barrier on the standard ECU. So far im at 78bhp with a lot more to come. Currently looking at the head. :D

Its a bit of a Mini williams turbo esque thing then, except for injection :w00t:

I'm sure that more and more people will be modifying injection cars as there are so many around.
