Changed my head gasket and fitted my 45DCOE yesterday- very exciting!
My question is – what am I supposed to do with the vacuum pipe that originally went into the carb from the vacuum unit on the dizzy?
Any ideas?
Weber - what to do with vaccum hose??

Well, I am using a 45 DCOE and am planning to drill and tap where the servo take-off is on the inlet manifold (I have no servo on my Mini).
That way, I can use that thread for a vacuum take-off for now.

My brother came up with some answers:
If you check out this link you'll see item 48 is a take-off for vacuum adavance.
A 45 DCOE has 2 take-offs, one on each choke. He reckons you can either run both into the dizzy using a T-piece, or just connect one.
If you just fit one, it may be best to fit an anti-pulse valve in-line (from a fiesta or similar) to even out the sucky-sucky.
As a parting note he said that possibly the best solution is to fit a mechanical advance dizzy (he runs a mallory) as vacuums tend to be quite on/off and don't allow for engine load like a mechanical one does.
