Hi I thought I would make a progress thread in the section for honda's ( will delete my other thread shortly )

My names Adam I'm a qualified mechanic and for the last few year have been wanting a mini :) well after searching and searching I found one on eBay that was fairly cheap. After a lot of thought I have decided on a b18 turbo and the plan is to make it AWD, the progress will be relatively slow but I will get there eventually.
So here's the pics of Molly the mini ( the wife named her :ninja: )

So that's Molly I first started by sorting the awfull patches on rear quarters I forgot to take pics of the welding but here's the after

My progress then stopped for a month as I bought myself a Japanese Akita pup

Now for the fun bit the engine :) this is the b16 I first got now I have a b18

Hi my plans for brakes are kad or Tarox 6 pots upfront then kad brakes on back and suspension will be all independent was looking at spax but I honestly want some proper coilovers with remote damper pots / fully adjustable bump / rebound etc :) I hope it will be rapid I want it to be the fastest car I have driven so lots to live up to lol

Cracking mate, loving that alot!

Oh and as for that manifold - yeah sex wee material right there

Whats the plans for this? track or road or both? And what you doing about subframes etc you going for minitecs AWD kit?

Front end plans? So many questions to ask!

I do hope you get to finish this, so many builds never get to see any tarmac running under there own power...

Thanks matey I will be finishing it don't get me wrong it's going to take me years my target is 3 lol the manifold is defiantly porn :) will be using mini tec awd kit the plan for the car is strip/track but I want it road legal ;) with the front I wanted a standard size but looking at clearance the only option I have is 90+ front which I'm slightly gutted about but I don't fancy turbo poking out of the front as that's not for me I don't want to give the game away if you get me

Are you keeping the 10's? (yes some people do!) 90+ and 10's don't go imo, looks like a.....well I'm not gonna mention what on here as Shifty will whip me!

You can just about pull it off with the 90+ and some 13's and sportspack arches, but to be honest look at it at the wrong angle and it might bug you, might not though

Getting all that in a standard front means the engine will have to sit so far back its scary to even think about, even a clubman front would be cutting it seriously close and they are about 100mm extra, as your using minitecs frame you don't really have a choice how far to mount the engine back, it goes in one place and thats that

Fair play to you though  envy you as I'd love to build this

It will defiantly be going on 13's been looking at revolution (think that's what there called) thinking as wide wheels as I can get and extra wide miglia arches the more tyre I have the more grip for the beast lol well that's my logic :\ I hope it doesn't bother me with the 90+ but its that or turbo sticking out of front lol

That manifold is exceptionally good, expensive, but damn they are very well made and provide very good results in bhp over standard items.

I look forward to the updates regarding the suspension and the overall project.

Good luck and keep at it.

I'm sure I've seen this somewhere before....

I would love to see this done, it has been done before but its quite rare. My plan is to one day supercharge my b16...or something along those lines.

I wish you all the best, will keep a close eye on the thread :D

Merry Christmas

Kieran

Hi this is my second thread I thought it was better having my thread in the Hondas section :) I want it done too lol it's scary to think the final cost of the build hence spreading the cost over a few years but I will get there eventually :) I would love to supercharge but iv always been a fan of turbos so that's the way I'm going and the list on the spec for engine to "hopefully" make it strong and reliable seem to go on for ever and lots to buy :(
Thanks for your comment and merry Christmas to you too
