the 123 has fully adjustable advance curve as well as presets
I have one on a mgc straight six

The 123 doesn't have this fuction in a Mini dizzy - the programmable option is only available at the moment in non-A-Series specs.

what's your view on the 276?

I have a 1330 Big valve gas flowed head, centre main strap balanced bottom end and a 276 cam with a Hif44 and Maniflow LCB 1.75" and its road manners are very good I'd recommend it.

That sounds like a really nice engine. In the lanes it would be strong at mid-range with an excellent top end as well.

sorry to dig up an old thread, engine still going well and now coming up to 16,000 miles and will be pulled out after this years L2B for rebuild into something a little different ;) i went for the 286 cam have been using it as a town wheapon as well as the motorways.

figures on a decent rolling road were 89bhp and 90ft/lbs at 6000rpm and the power curve was still rapidly climbing but Snetterton Speed Shop didnt want to rev any higher :mmkay: . Oil pressure is on 48psi on idle and touches 60 on heavy load. i had it up to 120mph by satnav ( on a private road  ;D  ) and it then would not go anymore as if the engine was being held back but still had another 1000rpm to go, must of been down to areo dynamics but never mind im happy. im running my 998 3.1 diff and i cant see how people can run anything above that i still wheel spin when in 3rd if taking it to 7k rpm up the gears.
