At the risk of asking an obvious question, what do you want to achieve? A simple reduction in road and engine noise within the cab, or high level sound absorption for an ICE system?

Perhaps another way to think about it is what gives best value for what you can afford.

If you use the flashing tape you will get a perfectly acceptable level of sound proofing within your budget. If you go the Dynamat route, you will probably get a higher level albeit at greater cost.

The "value" element comes from the question, will the Dynamat be £xx's better?

I went for the flashing tape. Not because I couldn't afford the other products, but because I didn't expect the difference sufficient to justify the extra cost.

Just for the record, my car (in my opinion) is probably as quiet as any other mini out there today. Therefore in my eyes, the flashing tape offered better value. If I had been doing a full on ICE install, my view may have been different.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Regards

Steve
