So you know when your driving along a busy country road in pitch black and thick fog and the whole car dies completaly lights and all before setting itsself on fire! What an extreme way for a car to pull a sicky!

Oh yeh, I think we all know the feeling. My Mini spontaneously combusted so many times I lost track. It's the way Issigonis designed them though, he realised in testing that the heater wasn't very effective at demisting the windows so he built in a spontaneous combustion feature.

Unlucky mate :( Sorry to hear. A message to all, buy fire extinguishers! Rita will have one when she's done!

Better to invest even if its a cheap one than stand and watch as your livelihood burns away infront of your eyes.

Halfords do them for under 25 quid including a mount!

Battery cutoff switch would be a good idea too.

no bungle wiring not been touched. All standard apart from a 12v socket which has been in over a year and is fused and wired properly. hard to tell now but I think that the coating has just perished after 33 years of use and finally shorted out quite spectacularly!
