I've had whole new brakes on the back, wheel goes straight on but won't spin. The hand takes been slackened right off but still won't spin?

Adjusted up correctly via the square adjuster on the back of the backplate, at the top (iirc) ? Shoes fitted the right way and correctly too?

Adjusters right in and it won't adjust in any further which is what we're struggling with

so the adjusters are backed right off on both sides and the handbrake is deffinately off? how did you get the drum back on without backing the shoes off?

The shoes were right in and the drum wouldn't go on and it only went on the other said with a bit of force but obviously the wheel stuggles to turn. the other wont go on. The problem is that it's had a new back plates, new shoes, new cylinders, new adjusters and blocks, one sides had a new drum (the other was ok). One side turns but is stiff and the other wont budge. The handbrakes loose and you still have to force the drum on hence the reason it's not turning...

Did you apply plenty of grease to the sliding adjusters? They could be wedge there under the pressure of the springs trying to pull the shoes in

take the adjuster screw out completey and hit the drum with a soft mallet and see if it will budge. if it works then take the drum off and check to make sure nothing has broken. then put the adjuster back in again and refit. the problem is where you have forced the drum back on and nothing will budge.

You can't not force the drum on, it's the only way to get the drum on?
