ad53ggz... do you have any pics of your install? Also is the PWM controller a T7 item (I seem to recall they were planning on having their own but I can't see any on their website) - if not then what PWM are you using and where did you get it from?

She is in for an mot just now I will take some when I get her back, and no it was just bought off ebay £10 if I remember. Finch the fan isn't too bad 3amp start up 2amp contious and the Pvm is rated for 10amp so it is more than enough for the job.

This will be interesting to see how you have done this, as I was thinking the same thing as well

seems like a stupid question for the t7 designs but is there an on/off switch? i cant see it in the pics on the website or do you need to buy extra stuff for that?

There is no on off switch with the t7 one just two wires for the fan positive and negative, what you then do is up to you. What I did was connect an off switch then my pwm then the fan, so I can switch the fan on then control fan speed. I will get pictures up once I get her back hopefully this afternoon, fingers crossed for the mot but there isn't much to see as its all hidden away.

Really really easy. Wiring its just putting the wires into right bit of the clearly marked pwm plumbing in easy too, just work put where you want to mount it same place as mini I dare say

The screen vents aren't brilliant on Minis & you say it's a Clubby, which can be worse with the upper dash rail. You can improve them a lot with some tank tape 'n mastic to cut down on the leaks.

That looks amazing, where did you get the dash vent and control?

Dash vents and other vent from t7, the rotary silver knob you mean. It's just off ebay.

The electric demisters fron CBS draw 14 amps each and you are likely to need two of them, so would need a 70 amp alternator to allow for other electrical loads. However, unlike any hot water-fed device, they will give fast warm up. I would be intrigued to know how they would be mounted in a Mini, as the top dash rail is structural and apart from the normal demister slots can't safely be cut away. I think you would need to build it outwards towards the driver with a bit of metal, and then make a new padded cover for it. That may be viable with a central instrument cluster, but with other types I think it would be difficult. Hopefully someone will do it, make a nice job of it, and show us how.

The small conventional heater does look very useful, but again I would like to see some pictures of one installed in a Mini, to see how it fits.

I see no reason why Mini owners should not benefit from modern technology to make the cars more comfortable in winter, as long as it still looks like and handles as well as, or better than a Mini of course. A secondary heater for the rear passengers and demisting of the quarterlights would not go amiss either.

I will be using one of the little heaters. Hence why i linked it.

I have a minus though so its going to be a little different to a normal mini.

Does anyone know what power output and and flow the original mini heater unit is?

I think I've seen a figure bandied around somewhere, it'll be far more than you're likely to get out of any electric jobby you can run off a car alternator. 2.8 kilowatt?
