Lidl and Aldi are both German companies... as far as I know!! Also, I have to also add my support for their bratwursts, they are quite lush (although a bit salty) :P

Aldi are like Tesco in Germany, they're everywhere! Their food is usually good quality too, I've had a few of their power tools, upright drill was a good one, cheap but well made and good warranties too, we have Lidl nearby too and they've upped their game recently and much like Asda but smaller, trouble is it's like shopping on holiday abroad as nobody seems to speak english lol

I have all sorts from Aldi as my wife works there! :D

My MIG welder came from there and it's as good as any other I've used. Same goes for spanners, jump leads, car mats, bulbs, paint, etc, etc. I've tried them all.... ;D

As for food, well she's been shopping for years there. :shades:

Aldi's not as bad as everyone makes out, particularly for continental food - bratwurst as mentioned, and Lebkuchen (German gingerbread, seriously tasty!).

I've not tried the tools and bits but for the price I'd say they're worth a try, even if they only last the one use it's still not bad!Oh and they did some good wine apparently (excuse the Daily Mail link) http://www.dailymail...onal-award.html

Back on topic, I'll wander down my local Aldi next Thursday and take a look, thanks

How's this. Buy a paper and get a fiver off when you spend £40 too! :D

It's in the Daily Mirror tomorrow.
