hi
i have a set of 10 inch mws 6 inch wide wheels they look like deep dish revolutions
they have worn yokos on, two needed replacing as on limit so i bought some falkens then took to quick fit to fit but quick fit ruined one by splitting the sidewall, they said the tyre was not wide enough
i have been to all the loal tyre fitters who tried to put them on an the machine has actually stopped as it was too tight
i bought some camacs and was told they came off 6 inch rim but same again too tight
looking at the rim the wheel wells look the same size, not sure if this could be the problem
maybe yokos are softer so will stretch more
have enclosed pic of rim
any info appreciated
cheers

They aren't splitrims are they? Could be they were meant to have crossplys not steel belted radials?

i know my machine wouldn't cope when i stuck those tyres on my 10x7s. i had to use the tyre leavers while having the wheel clamped down on the machine. there on there now!

I THINK that there is a big problem with these wheels. The issue is that tyres will not go on them!! I think they are returnable due I the major flaw!!

Don't take any action on this until someone else confirms it. I may be wrong :P

Theres a very big old thread on this very subject, I'll have a look and see if I can find it.

As I recall the wheel design is wrong which makes it nearly impossible to get the tyres on.

i know when he took the old yoko off he bent 2 tyre levers and it took over an hour to get it off, i know as i was watching him sweat and swear at it
he said the rims are not right

sonick4 the tyre wont even go on the rim as too tight
the quick fit muppet got the other one on the rim then used the bead blaster to seal it when he inflated it it had a massive bleb on it where he caught it on the sidewall

If you look at the wheel the tyre well is in the middle. Other wheels have offset wheel wells to get the tyre on. With a deep dog wheel the well is either right near the dish or offset the othe war around, so you put the tyre on backwards.

Tell em to put the wheel on the clamp with the outer rim down.

Nope. Racing wheels are pretty much the same as road wheels. Racing wheels that are for autograss etc use bead lockers. Nothing to do with the tyre well.

Save yourself the hassle and get another set of rims.

General question: will midland wheels accept these as returns due to incorrectness! :D

Wouldn't make any difference the wheel well is in the middle! The wheel well is paramount to fitting tyres:P
