Is that an X-type Jag you have? If so what do you think of it as I'm thinking of getting rid of my wife's Mondeo Diesel and getting her an X-Type 2.2D Auto?

They're the same platform, its just dressed up basically. We looked at an estate, was lovely and I really don't think they had that many pitfalls, if any. Try and get a 4WD one. Always useful in the event of some chilli weather :)

Her Mondeo has been superb. We bought it in 2005 at one year old & 17000 miles and now it's done 94000. Had no major problems.
The other alternative is a 2.7D Jag 'S' Type which would tow a trailer better. She had an XJ6 many years ago, as did I, and she loved hers. I hated mine, but that's another story.

It belongs to my wife. It is 2004 3.0 petrol with about 6000 miles. She inherited it when her father passed away. It has good acceleration and good brakes. Mileage is about 20 MPG (US gallons). The boot is huge.
It is not very roomy inside though, I think that my 2002 Hyundai Elantra is better. Apparently, the headliner tends to fall off after a few years and it was expensive to replace. Some of the console pieces have broken off . It always has a coolant smell after driving but does not need topping up.
The opinion of it on this side of the pond is that the materials are flimsy. The power train is good since it is shared with Mazda too.

Thanks for that. Her Mondeo 2.0 Diesel Ghia will be a hard act to follow and we may go for another Mondeo Diesel or a Jag 'S' Type Diesel.
