Not only is it great in many other ways but it is still the cheapest car for me to insure with 1 years no claims :D

It was born of an optimist and innovator. It was the little car that can, a bright promise that was uncommonly actualized. It represents rebelliousness, having beaten the authorities in motor racing. It is impatient like a dog on a leash being taken for a walk every time you take it around a corner.

But it is great because it is flawed. It reminds us of ourselves. If it was not, it would not be capable of capturing the hearts of man for generations.

godspeed little mini

There easier to fix than most modern cars that usually have to be hooked up to a computer to find the root cause of the problem not to mention there a hell of a lot more fun to drive :P

It isn't a good car!

Read any of the reviews from the the early 60's it was old fashioned when launched

Compair a 59 to one built a few years later.. Almost every part is re designed.. Many of the problems were things Issigonis claimed were correct

Fun, great, loveable yes but good IMO no lol

Yeah well sometimes it's worth going to a "pro" for that sort of thing, if you want the job done properly!! (ahem...... or so I'm told anyway!)

The Mini is on its last hurrah, like the 2cv and Beetle before it numbers will fall dramatically in the next 10 years, happily there are enough enthusiests to keep a good number going albeit as hobby cars.

I don't think the Missis would agree.

I think everyone should have a mini as a first car. Perfect for boy racers. Cheap to run. Feel like your speeding everywhere when your really only going slow. For me I like how it's practically a road legal go cart that puts a smile on everyone's face. There's an amusing sense of illegalness while your on a motorway too

Because it's a road legal go-cart. It makes all the noise it wants and instead of people looking in digust at some raced up french trash, it's actually a good looking classic motor strutting its stuff down the road.
