Wiring Connector ?

why not snip that random old connector off, and solder (or crimp through connectors) onto new lengths of wire that get you to the right location. seems unlikely that having it connected with a plug at that original location will be handy in any way in the future

 

Good suggestion. Why didn't I think of that?

Don't solder the joints .. it's considered a weak point due to vibration ... so use proper crimped joints.

I put that down as personal choice to be honest, personally I can't see that a properly well soldered joint is likely to come apart, and I've done it in cars a hundred times without issue

 

that said the mini is a bone shakey rattley little thing so maybe you're right lol who knows

 

I've seen crimped connectors fail on a number of occasions I don't think either of them are totally infallible options
