I noticed i had an oil leak from my rocker cover because the gasket wasn't sitting right. I sorted that out and checked my oil level, it was low so I topped it up, but like a t*** I've put far too much in. Has any body got any idea how to get some of it out without draining it all out. Thought about siphoning some out via the dip stick. what are your thoughts on this? or do you have a better idea?
Thanks a lot, Ben.

use a oil change pump straight down the dip stick hole.

Place a container under the sump, undo the sump plug a bit as Rob Mac suggested and drain out about a pint of oil. Now fill up to MAX mark.

Gonna be the first thing I try tomorrow. Thanks guys, I'll let you all know how it goes.

Unscrew the oil filter, remove the HT leads and turn it over whilst it pumps out how much you want to remove.

That rings bells as a bad idea to me. One it will be messy and two, running/cranking an engine with part of the oil system missing is not gunna be good for flow or pressure.

Remove the sump plug to drain, its the easiest way.

you really have to go some to overfill a mini engine because of the gearbox,

at the max mark the oil is just over half way up the gears, to cause issues you'd need another 2" or so of oil in there which is probably getting on for a gallon.

out of the dip stick hole is fine

it's the only way to get the oil out a lot of boat engines
