I'd like to see a dash that incorporates a few things.
A Cup Holder
A Glove box
A Radio
- Cup holders is something that we have been looking into. We can only offer cup holders if they are made from fibreglass/plastic so they may be added to the range as an option extra that you can attach to the back of the glove box door.
So in other words, you can open the glove box and place a cup in a holder that is attached to the door. However, the feature won't be cheap due to the fibreglass manufacturing and painting costs - from an additional £50. We will also be offering a similar feature as an insert to the arm rest pocket.
- All dashboards will come with the option of a glove box and also (except out budget range) - centre binnacle dashboards will have a glove box either side of the binnacle. Dashboards for Mini's with the top padded dash rail fitted will also come with actual carpeted glove boxes (not just a hole).
- All offset dashboards have the option of a CD player/radio housing. However, there is not enough room to fit a CD player/radio either side of a centre binnacle - so centre binnacle dashboards don't offer that option.
Thanks

You could buy a load of these and incorprate them into you dashbords all it is, is cutting a stereo hole over the normal stereo and put it there. Or a good idea is stereo in dashbord and cup holder on center console. Would work better other what around as the centre console isnt plum like the dash but still all i use it for is bottle not open tea cups
Id be another one for the rily dash love them dashs ;)

Using a more desirable wood and offering it stained/waxed might be an interesting experiment? Pine isn't too expensive and if it's stained/waxed it can come up looking lovely. Just an idea :).
Already covered and yeah that is no problem at all as a custom option.
A solid wood dashboard would be very expensive though, before we even start manufacturing it you are looking at a cost of over £60 for a router cutter (wood eats cutters). So I'd estimate that a solid dashboard would be somewhere in the £170 to £200 region (depending on the type of wood).
One last thing that did pop to mind about an earlier suggestion. Someone suggested that you could have something that appears below the dash rail on the passenger side and you said it wasn't possible. How about having some sort of bracket that attaches to the back of the main dashboard and would allow fitment of something beneath the dash rail? Could be possible for something small like a cd/map shelf? Again just throwing ideas about.
As I said before It would have to be a custom bracket system attached to the bottom dash rail/metal supports - so if you like it's nothing to do with dashboards but something we may be able to look into to offering on a custom drive-in-drive-out basis.
Unfortunately, space is extremely limited in the Classic Mini interior, even if an iPad would fit in the space under the dash rail/dash tray between the bulkhead and front of the dash rail and between the heater unit and inner wheel arch cover is questionable.

War bout putting an iPod dock in a glove box for people not getting ur arm rests
The idea of having an iPod in your car is to be able to use it easily - so you don't want it hidden away in the glove box.
However, if you wanted to hide a dock in the glove box there is no harm in simply putting a wire through into the glove box yourself.

Our offset dashboards will be available with CD player/radio housing holes - so you can simply buy one of those yourself and install it in the hole (instead of installing a CD player).
If we were to install a cup holder, we would be looking at incorporating it into the actual design of the dashboard - not doing it as an after thought like that. It may certainly be worth looking into that product though and letting people know about it.
However, from the looks of the photos I don't think that the cup holder tray looks like it comes out far enough, over the dash rail, to be able to use.

what about designing a dash with a sleeve in it for the ipad mini or nexus 7?
something like this.
Certainly something that we would love to incorporate but unfortunately a majority of tablets simply don't fit between the lower dash rail and the upper dash rail (even with the top padded dash rail removed they don't fit between the lower dash rail and upper metal dash rail).
At a squeeze you can fit an iPad Mini mounted landscape. So perhaps a possibility and definitely something that we can offer as a custom option (basically a custom sized hole on the dash).
Thanks

Yeah, certain tablets certainly would fit in the face of a centre console - the upright face surface has a space of up to 24cm x 18cm (taking into account mounting widths).
But they won't fit on a dashboard:
- Top padded dash rail fitted dashbaords have a height of 14cm in the centre (taking into account mounting widths)
- Top padded dash rail removed dashbaords have a height of 16cm in the centre (taking into account mounting widths)
Thanks

my nexus is 12cm height in landscape, im not sure what dims really you mention as i've never had a "proper" dash so to speak.
it was just an idea as either something that can maybe sit externally on the dash with velcro or an addon in the middle. to expand your range even further!

So the Nexus is a very small tablet - it can't be much bigger than the Galaxy smart phone!
As I said above offering custom holes for such objects is definitely something that we can offer as a custom option (basically a custom sized hole on the dash).
