Those are the standard holes. A lot of the chrome versions are not made well and do not fit without making the mounting holes bigger. I'd get a good used standard one and paint it to match your car.

I've just had another look at your pictures and it looks like those are not the original holes, they look to close together. Also there is no hole for the wiring.

mk1 ones would require a different boot or a panel insert as they were different :]

Or a drill.

To answer your question OP. I'd do as surfblue reccomends, those chrome ones often only last a few months before pitting and destroying themselves. A painted one to match would suit it lovely. Hope that helps.

yeh the mk1 ones usually sit underneath the bottom of the numberplate but because the holes are so close together i thought a mk1 would fit as they look the same ino i would have to turn it around so the lights face down towards the plate but whats your thoughts? would it look crap?

You can pick up a used Mk1 at a show or on ebay real cheap to see if it fits. If it does then buy a nice shiney new one.

I used the standard rear bracket but spun around to clear the over rider. My cars a '93 Sprite so the rear vallence was already drilled for the brackets and wiring on both sides.

The shiny one looks great IMO or....

I know it would involve a bit more work with filling in your existing holes but you could go for the clean look and fit illuminated number plate bolts such as....

Just food for thought.
