i wished i would of known before it was painted now dont really want to start filling the holes and having it painted again ile try the one above from mini spares if that does not work then i will stick to the original one painted or chrome. now ino i can do these things on my next one. thanks for that tom

If you really wan't chrome get the standard black plastic one wrapped in chrome vinyl!

The holes in the boot lid look like the standard ones for the pins on a MK3 style badge, like this type

I'd fit a MK1/2 style light under the plate, you are going to have to drill some holes though whatever you fit, cover the paint with masking tape to mark it all out, this will help the drill not to slip

hi i brought this one today http://www.minispare...|Back to search and i must admit it looks alot better then the other one. but its not big enough to cover the 2 widest holes. so just so i can use this light would it look good if i got a metal plate oval shape or something get it chromed and fit it behind the light so it covers the holes all together or could get the metal plate thats behind it same color as my car whats your thoughts? would it look bodgey or could i design a plate that makes it look pritty good? thanks tom

Why not fit a MK3 badge of you choice (or personalised) In the badge holes, then you could either make up a plate to hold the lamp directly to the number plate or get the original backing and use extended bolts with spacers behind to fix it all on to the boot lid using the holes you already have for the number plate, then you will only need one extra small hole with the correct grommet (suitably rust proofed) for the lamp wiring. If you put that lamp above the plate it will just look wrong IMO

hi thanks for your reply. i am trying to avoid badges really i should of had the holes coverd up before painting would of been alot better but didnt think about the holes there a few by the number plate two that i only just coverd with the numberplate. ile have to try two customise this one and if it doesnt look two good ile stick with the original one. ile get some pictures tonight of a template i have made thanks tom
