Quietest is twin RC40. Strongest is Twin Maniflow.
However, I use a Maniflow 'cherry-bomb' and an RC40 as back box. The RC40 has strong skid plates welded on and the entire system is one-piece welded from the Y-piece to final outlet.
The reason for centre exit is to prevent offset loads on the back box. When it is side exit the box will present a bigger area to bumps and can be more easily damaged. The centre exit is turned up to prevent the pipe filling with mud if you spin off backwards into an earth back or a solid object which could cause the exhaust to 'telescope'. The other reason is that with twin electric pumps fitted under the rear seat base panel, the centre exhaust allow access to the pumps and doesn't risk the rear box being bent up into contact with them. It also allows a fuel pump shield to be fitted.
Everything is done for a logical reason.

Well it's never let me down, what events have you got planned?

I thought about northern eventslike the VK, Drystone, and the events I marshall on regularly, mercian, ab halfnight, dansport, preston, and some my mate suggested like the 1000 lanes, lynn, and bro tiefal? iirc. All help greatly appreciated by the way. Cheers guys!

Probably not, too far for me, and we are usually the results team. The welsh events are the one my friend is close too

Just had my system noise tested.......1.75" twin box Maniflow centre exit @ 88dB at about 4500rpm (ish)

Well from what i could see (he was behind me...ha ha) from what he was doing to other cars....it wasn't the two meters reading. It was more like half a meter (ish) directly behind the exhaust.

Whilst led under mine the other day, I wondered if I'd sacked off the cable hand brake for hydraulic, if the tunnel could then be replicated on the subframe to get the exhaust higher. Has this ever been done?

You could but with some regulations you have to have the OE handbrake and cables still fitted.
Also I dont know the mot legality of doing this to it

hi sorry to say that the side exit sit higher to the body then the centre exit because of the cut out in the valance. the only reason the side exit hang lower (1) is if it is not install correct (2) or if you used those push on rubber mounts used cotton real mounts with horse shoe clamp. the centre exit with the end turn up fills up with water when the rain fall hard. i tryed both
