I ran one a 28/36 on my std 998 cooper and used 23 primary 25 secondary chokes, with 125/140 main jets, air corrector 190/200, pump jet 70 and idle jets 45/45. worked very well and had good torque on a light throttle. its was jetted and altered slightly from the settings in vizards yellow book. went well on it to be honest and would not be afraid to use one again.
Engine was a std 998 Cooper with a maniflow single box system
What state of tune is your 1275?
edit
I have a copy in the garage of vizards book if you want access to recommended setting for a 1275? obviously its a ball park setting but wont be that far off
a 28/36 isn't an IDA/IDF or DRLA though!
Opening description said downdraft which as we all know is a 28/36 is a downdraft and the original poster but a ? on the end so I put info in for a 28/36 which hes running now
ebay link is a 32/34 which is slightly less tuneable as it has fixed chokes
