I put a bit of rag inside and tapped them in , I took the complete unit of the car as mine wasn't connected at the time anyway it was far easier

Please remember that you can't actually change gear any more quickly then with the standard shift, so this is a mis-named bit of kit really. Not for nothing are they also known as 'Quick-Graunch'.
However, they are really 'Short-Throw' gear linkages. I had one and quite liked it, although when I built a 1990 rally Cooper I just improved the standard change and that was the best improvement I ever did.

How did you improve the standard one Cooperman? Or is that a trade secret?? ;D
