Hullo,

From a technical point of view, is there any reason why my SPi couldn't be reshelled into an MPi shell?

Thanks :)

one thing that springs to mind is the rad, they are front mounted on the MPI and on the side on the SPI. Not a show stopper though by any means

Yeah thats the only thing I can think of, but they're subframe mounted on an MPi and sort of engine mounted on an SPi so I should get away with that!

Inner wing wont have the vents for the rad cooling.

the panels around the engine bay as covered above are the main changes

do the MPI's have the washer bottle in the boot like SPI's ?

Yeah they have the washers in the boot. And the other advantages are the relay, ecy and switch brackets that most carb shells don't have

Steering column was changed to the MGF type on MPIs, seatbelt mountings for the front changed for the automatic restrainers, something else slightly minor is the secondary fusebox on later SPIs.

I hadn't thought about the column. That's no worry to me though because I've fitted an MPi column in my other carb'd mini.

Are the seat belt mounts completely different? As in I wouldn't be able to fit my SPi items?

I only listed those as something to check, I can't say if they definitely moved or not.
