dizzy for mini 1275 metro engine?

what dizzy is needed when i swap my 998 engine for a 1275 metro lump?
will the old one work or will i have to buy a new one?
is there anything i need to look out for?

Whichever one was fitted to the engine you are putting in. Dizzys are more than just a spark distributor, they control the ignition advance through the range and are tuned to work with the camshaft and intended use of the engine. The one from a 998 will be all wrong.

Do you know which Metro your motor came out of? Or do you have the engine number?

the engine number is 12HF01 108041

i would be looking for a standard electronic metro ignition lucas 65dm4 ignition coil. (think thats right)

by the way it is an unleaded mg metro lump also the sam eone they used for the turbo by the look s of it.

cheers, so that is a distributor right, and not a coil.?
fairly new to the scene
would i have nitrided crank and stronger pistons you think like the turbo or not?
