I have been wanting for a while to purchase some pressed plates for my mini it is a 2000 cooper sport and I know there are usually legal issues with pressed plates on cars of this year I have spoke with a police officer and was told the plates have to be reflective is it possible to get pressed plates that are legal for the year of my car ? Thanks Pete

Yes they have to have the correct spacing, lettering and must be reflective. I'm getting these when I get paid
http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a7d943110 £20 is a bargain price too

Just buy them and carry the originals incase you get stopped. 'Im coming back from a show/meet and forgot to change them over.' Me and Simon never had any troubs with his on his '97 Cooper :-)

Do your insurers know about your MK1 grille?

;D

Yeah that's why I'm getting them ones, they have to carry the companies name on. As I say, as long as they are reflective, have the correct lettering i.e font style, width and height and the correct spacing then you should be fine. Like Craig has said, carry your old ones in the back incase you are pulled over

I can remember making those sort of plates with the plastic digits when i worked at a motor factors in the 70/80s, punching holes in the plates to fit them on.
Used to take ages,

Not pressed ones surely? Can't see how they would fall apart.

The reflective part lifts from around the pressed letters, very annoying! luckily my black versions haven't had this problem :D

Not good, I would have thought it was impossible for someone to mess that up, but shows how even the simplest thing can be stuffed up if a moron is in charge of making it!

For the price though if they're cheap enough I'm happy as long as they last long enough I'm happy to pay for them like, how long does the reflective cover seem to last for ?
