Of course you don't want to spend loads and of course the 'big teams' 'rip you off' so there's an alternative. Do it on the cheap, eff around at the back and, regardless of what talent your son does or doesn't have, no one will ever notice he was ever there! It'll be fun though for a while, but that money is definitely wasted!

I'm twenty years away from karting and nearly as far away from all motor sport but it is not a cheap game. Never was, never can be! Q - How much does motor racing cost? A - How much have you got? ;D

Having said that, Clio Cup isn't a million to get started and a quarter mill a year - you won't have to find that sort of money until he's been climbing the car racing ladder for three or four years!

I used to do Grand Prix/Endurance racing, now I just do the occasional arrive and drive sort of thing, if I had a job I'd get back into the Endurance racing.

Got some helmet cam footage the other day when I was there, set the fastest lap, in light snow ;)
As said, best way is just to contact different teams and start getting him into different racers and contact promoters, surely your local track should be able to help you out? Mine would just say they're taking a team up somewhere would I be interested in racing for them, still got my trophies, but never got a first trophy >:(

There's always the sax max juniors with the 750 motor club. Prob the cheapest Motorsport as it's very controlled series.with road tyres gaz shocks standerd engines with sealed ecu's.

Anyone on here go kimbolton or whilton mill? Although I don't race anymore I still go and watch if a race meeting is on when I'm free. Haven't been for a good few months now though
