If you want full on proformance... why not get the block pocketed, and stick a 1275 head on?

to be honest the cheapest way of more power is to get a 12g295 cooper head.

lomecvac has one for sale and so does brawlyrox

Well, not really as any 12G295 will need to be setup for the A+ engine which means a lot of calculations and some machining which all has to be paid for.

Yes a 998 head can be improved but you can't just say 'doing this to that head will give this much more bhp to your engine'. Engine development is about the whole package, not the Max-Power 'bolt on exactly 15 extra bhp with this cruddy electric fan' rubbish.

Yes getting it ported will help, that's a fairly large part of head tuning. Do you have a stage 1 kit fitted yet? That's the best way to get easy extra power out of a standard engine along with a proper tuning session.
