At £85 per 25L drum plus shipping for a dangerous chemical and VAT on top I guess it isn't cheap is it :-(

I use cutting oil and it costs me £85 per 25L drum :-(

Where would you get Acetone from though ?

That's cheap for cutting oil! MJC are closer to £140 for 25l and that would last me 20 years. I get the acetone from an industrial chemical supplier, you need proof of what it will used for but its not a major problem. Pretty much any local supplier will do it. Prices vary, I think the last lot I got worked out about £1.50 a litre. Paraffin is over £3 a litre where i get it from. I dont use a lot, so would guess you could get it a lot cheaper if you buy in bulk. Panel wipe used to be less than a fiver for 5 litres, aahhhh them were the days.....

I have used CFS, but never for acetone, and they are very good:

The 25l is the size I get, so they are a bit more expensive than my local, but they do delivery. The big drum works out very cheap!

Edit: did a quick search and there are loads. These seem pretty cheap:

My brain fade! It's MSC

http://www1.mscdirect.com/cgi/nnsrhm

We get a lot of stuff from them but their prices go up and down very regularly with big discounts for bulk buys which doesn't help us.

Just use brake cleaner in an aerosol can and a tooth brush and give it a good clean out.

That works well if the arm isn't full of grease as is the case in so many radius arms :-(

This looks quite interesting (yet very disgusting!) too -

Anyone know how to remove that pin?

Compressed air is potentially very dangerous, even more so with grease added to the equation.

The pin is a very tight interference fit in the arm and has to be removed with a big press. There is a circlip on the back where the shock absorber pin is so you have to press it out from front to back.

By pin do you mean the stub axle that has been removed in the video? You need a minimum 10 tonne press, preferably a 12 tonne one.

I use a 20 tonne press and often, a little extra heat. However I would agree with Dan that a 10 or 12 tonne press would in most cases be sufficient to do the job.

A compressed air grease gun filled with water would push out the grease in that manner a bit more safely and then allow a good run through with Jizer.

I may have just justified a compressed air greae gun to myself...
