Yawn - A similar acronym can be created for almost any car manufacturer, the silly thing is some people believe them...

Delorean, on the premise that a car manufacturer is supposed to manufacture cars.

Daf produced singularly uninspiring models 'n all.

Deloreans are brilliant yet fords are dire? >_<

I add to my list, LDV. They're hideous! On there maxis, they give the cambelt life of 70,000 but it's common for the belt to snap and need a complete rebuilt before 60,000!

Well, I can't say tatra, since it makes so much sense to put a big hot v8 at the wrong end of the car....
I'm just going to go with any worthwhile company after it gets bought out by gm or ford. Let's take a car company with some progressive or unusual ideas and slap their name on the same ladder chassis SUVs we've been failing with for years.

Sorry - I don't think Ford have put any other companies cars on our ladder chassis (in the US), the only Ford ladder on general sale in Europe is the Australian designed Ranger. Also I think it's fairly agreed in the industry that the Focus has the best chassis on the market.
Ford also bought, and invested in Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Volvo, all of which were in a better state when sold again.
Ford currently only owns the Ford brand and the Lincoln brand in the US.

General Motors do have a lot of brands with badge engineered models, but that's not always a bad thing. Remember VAG build Skoda, Seat, VW and Audi all on the same platforms.

I know I'm getting a bit irate here, but the level of indifference or ignorance of the modern Automotive market is astounding.
