Rubber cones are best unless it's a race car which will only be used on smooth tracks. The cones are a really good 'rising rate' spring which is what a Mini, with its short suspension travel needs.

I have a set of these fitted to the Union Jack car, and the ride quality is amazing - verging on hydro levels of smoothness.
As I understand it, the S-Racer springs sold by Mini Spares were the originals and most others are copies.
Not recommended for the back of a heavily laden estate though (a complete engine & 'box) - I managed to snap one when I hit an unseen speed bump at speed.

Thanks for the replies. I thought I would see what people's opinions were on them as I'm in the position to replace the suspension & fit hi lows as well I'm basically after more comfort really

Too right Cooperman.
I've actually got these on my Mini, and not out of preference. They came with the car when I got it so I just adjust my road choice for flatter faster roads.. not always an easy task in the Country side.
To any onlookers - I advise staying clear of the firm spring set.

What would be the best cones to purchase for normal mini driving / standard ride height at the front. Slightly lowered on the rear with standard 12" cooper wheels ?
