I ran two variations to my build. First off I built it using the standard engine but ground the chambers in the head out a bit. I have a T2 on it and first i was running around 8 psi of boost i got 80 bhp. That was like driving a fast 1275.
Then I changed to a mg metro cam, 12G295 head and electronic ignition and that gave me a high revving 110 bhp at 13 psi. So far I've covered nearly 10,000 miles. 110 bhp is plenty for a road mini, especially because you have to rev it so makes it bit more scary to use on the road. Round a track it's great... me and a race spec 1380 mini had a good little battle round combe once and I also met the same chap at llandow circuit and again we were a good match. I'd get him on the straights but he caught me coming out of the corners due to the turbo lag (and my driving).

Depending on how much effort you want to put in i think either:
swap the head, fit a T2 on mirage manifold, get megajolt and start driving it
or
take it apart, check it over, fit a cross pin diff for peace of mind, get it balanced (for the high revving), get a mg metro cam (or similar) and then do the above.
All depends how much time and money you have.
