i dont think u do but if u can id suggest using a new driveshaft circlip as its possible for the shaft to pop out with a worn clip.

I did the conversion at the weekend, yes I used the driveshafts from the 8.4 setup, but kept the pot joints from the drum setup to avoid draining the oil.

I changed from drums to discs and used the existing driveshafts.

right worked it out its not the actual driveshafts its the bits that go into the hub itself that are different so not to worry panic over...

the big bits that go in the hub are called Cv's aren't they?
