Looking nice guys!

minimaxie, having seen yours with all the chrome plastics and the mirrors, I hvae shell envy! I think I may have to get a Monte Carlo shell and re-do mine.. >_<

haha thanks :) go for it. The Monte Carlo shells are better IMO. Think they usually cost a bit more but definitely worth it I reckon.

I've recently had a ball joint/hub failure...

And annoyingly having only ever been used twice, both on smooth open car parks with no heavy crashes, both steering arms have cracked. The one above failing allowing the kingpins to fall out a disappear (couldn't find them) and the other side not far off the same fate.

What I can't get is I run the exact same hubs and steering arms (in standard black) on my other Tamiya tlo1, witch does get some abuse, crashed, rolled etc. and never had any part of the steering fail. Does also now mean I'm going to have to refit the standard boring black plastic parts, as those were the only blue chrome ones I had.

standard Tamiya, mo3-m 'stronger' front steering arms and c hubs but in blue chrome. I can't see how these have done that though, as I've been using the standard black ones on another car with no problems like the ones below...

Only the ones I've been using would have originally come standard in one of these kits, just remove the middle spacer to convert it to an mo3/mini chassis.

Yeah disappointing. Like the clear shocks that some people like that fall apart. I think you have to decide whether its going to be used or a shelf queen. If the former then all you need is some proper bearings, some extra weight and the bits you put in the friction shocks to lower it.

kind of built it for both to be honest, I've spent too much on it for it to be used too often. I think I'll just fit the same parts but in standard black and see what happens, as I quite like the extra steering and the 1.5 degree on toe in at the rear.

Rear toe in only helps keep it stable in a straight line.

witch is always handy with a motor/my driving than can destroy a set of front tyres in just 2 runs.

would also be handy if I could play with the anti roll bars and springs to stop it from swapping ends without warning.

Unless you have a lot of rake on it those things shouldn't have that effect on the car. Does it do it when you lift off and/or brake?
Have you lowered it. How have you set the front wheels?

It's swapping ends when lifting off. Ride height I'm unsure off the top of my head, but it's running 3 racing 49mm dampers with 6mm spacers in the front. Tamiya hard blue springs on the front and yellow medium on the rear with the softer of the 2 anti roll bars on both front and rear. Steering is also set as per the kit/standard.

Then you may have too much drag brake set on the speedo? Try adding some weight to the rear as well. All the weight, drive and braking is done over the front.
Also, use a straight edge to set the front wheels straight ahead. As soon as you accelerate the front lifts and gives you toe out so you don't really want any more tuned in.
