The mini in the lake !!!
Did it drive out or was it pulled out ? it looked like there was a good drop down into the lake.

I believe a transit van helped pull it out

I followed the "lake Mini" all the way to the M6 after we left. It sounded fine but it was billowing out steam from the exhaust the whole time. Like the engine was cold even though it took us nearly an hour to get to the motorway. I dont know any car that takes that long to warm up!

It wouldn't have been 'warming up' it would have been the all the water that was in the exhaust heating up and turning to steam.

So was it actually a result of some idiot doing handbrake turns on a wet grass slope above a lake, or is that just a vicious rumour that's been started on the Facebook page?

I think the "improper use of the handbrake" comment related to the fact he didn't use the handbrake to stop the car once it started to slide backwards wheelspinning into the lake. It was just an unfortunate accident more than anyone messing around

Judging by the spotless nature of his Mini I doubt he was much of a handbrake turning yobbo.

Oh I see, I didn't realise that it was as a resilt of that sort of "improper use of the handbreak", personally I prefer the handbrake turn rumour though, as that makes for a much more interesting story!

You don't have to be a yobbo to enjoy the delights of a handbrake in fine fettle and a wet field :-) even though I am 41 I find it very hard to resist...........
