needs to have M.O.T and tax
has to be a manual
not too much rust and nothing that needs welding
can have some mechanical faults as would be able to fix myself

Thanks for the suggestion, but really does need to be a 998cc as much as I would like 1275 the insurance is just way too high.
Thanks

Have you looked into insurance a lot? As I've found that there isn't much if any differance in some 1275s over the 998s.. just have to look around and ring a few people..

I agree with the above comment my insurance company specifically told me the engine size will make no difference, what will are mods, age and value

Il 16 restoring for when I drive and I put in for a quote turns out cheaper for a 1275cc than a 998

I've found an open classic which is a 1275 but everytime I've look at insurance for it it always seems to be in the 3000 or more wheras when I look for a 998 they seem to be in the 1000-2000 area

Got a 1980 Mini HL 1000

Completely original, 12 months MOT, 6 months Tax, small patches of surface rust, nothing serious, all major bodywork has been rectified.

Little bit higher than you're budget at £2095 but is a solid, reliable mini that just needs some TLC to make a cracking, original beaut!

If you want more info and pictures and you're seriously interested, PM me and we'll go from there

located in Basingstoke, Hampshire

Both of those cars sound very nice but at the moment I could only stretch to about £1600 at the moment
