Hello,

 

I'm selling my 1990 Flame Red 998 (Red/White roof, original alloy wheels, manual).  Some superfical rust but basically sound, body work & paint could do with some cosmetic work but no welding. New sub frame last year. MOT until June. Price negotiable but I think we could reach a deal based on your budget.

 

I'm near Cheltenham so fairly local to you

Pic just to give an idea of the colour, wheels etc. Externally it is fairly much as the orignial spec no additions.  I'll try and upload some better pics later on.

 

The interior is basic, original seats and dashboard and no ICE, I do have the original radio cassette   in a box of bits

 

I should also say that although it has a current MOT it will almost certainly need some work to pass the next one.  Not body work but emissions and brakes are questionable.

 

I've had the car since 1997 but my daughter is now too tall for it to be a 3 seater so have decided to sell it

looks like quite a nice car. but you say it will need some work for future mot's but what kind of work exactly would it need because i might be able to do some of the work myself as im at college training to be a mechanic and have worked on my brothers mini's before. also would you be able to take some pictures of the interior?

I've only driven the car a handful of times this year and I am no expert but the things I think need fixing are:

 

Brakes - The front disc brakes do not work well, these need to be sorted out asap

Lights -  The sidelights & dip beam are fine but the main beam does not always work, possible dodgy connection

Wheels - Need to be refurbished, paint is bit flakey and tyres do not seal 100% so need to pump up frequently

Wipers - Need new blades

Emmissions - Always a problem with a Mini. In the past have always managed to lean it enough to pass and run in the summer, winter running needs a richer mixture

Number Plates - These need replacing

Body work - Some small rust bubbles need attention. Bonnet is faded and could do with a re spray. Front bumper and grill have rust spots

 

I have receipts for the work done in the last two years including replacing the rear sub fame, all shock absorbers and a re build of the gear box

 

I'm advertising it at £1475 but am open to sensible offers as I realise it does need work done
