Just starting a rebuild on a 1275 and been advised the primary gear bushes have too much play in them.
I have ordered new bushes but am wondering if anyone has experience of companies who can turn them to size?
Preferrably Essex area or postal as long as they don't want my crank to go with it..
Thanks

We can do it where I work, Sudbury TC they are called. Give them a ring. Alernatively if you want me to I can do them myself at work rather than having to do the job on the books. I live in Halstead.
Thanks, nice offer and local, what sort of price and time scale?
Does your work, or you, do them often and do you want the crank or can you measure and go from that?
Out of interest what are Sudbury tc and what else do they do?

Is this the plain one ? or the one with the top hat there is a floating bush available here which may be of use to you http://www.minispare...02.aspx|Back to
The floating bush is not suitable for the a+ as the oil holes chew them up apparently, did look into them though, shame.

The finished sizes of the bushes are -
For road use;
Small-bore front bush 1.503" +0.002"/-0.0", same for rear bush.
Large-bore front bush 1.628" +0.002"/-0.0", rear bush 1.503" +0.002"/-0.0".
NOTE: these figures are based on the crankshaft surfaces where the primary gear runs being 'as new' in sizing. If the crankshaft is well used and shows signs of wear in these areas - carefully measure the journal diameters with a micrometer (or some such suitably accurate device). To the figures gained allow a running tolerance of 0.003" +0.002"/-0.0" for road use on both bushes, and 0.006" +0.002"/-0.0" on the front bush, 0.004" +0.001"/-0.0" on the rear bush for race use.

I got this from KC so I asume the finished sizes are as below

Yes that does include a 0.003 clearance on an as new crank.
