So basically what I take from from the metro brake system is calipers, drive flanges, hub bolts, and hub nut (i'm going to get grooved&vented discs). right? And rest of the parts i try to source out somewhere..
is there any use for rest of the metro parts in mini? Meaning that is there anyway to build up a another non-vented disc setup from what is left + parts that are left over from current setup?

Mini drive flanges don't fit as they don't space the disc back to the caliper correctly. (A bit of extra material moves it too close to the hub and then it doesn't centralise in the caliper)
I'm not quite getting your meaning for the use of the "other" metro parts. The only parts left are the driveshafts and hubs/uprights, and they are only useful on metros! You could in theory put the mini calipers back on the metro, but I'm not sure why you'd want to, and I'm not sure what caliper bolt you'd need to use!
when you do the upgrades, you'll need the following:
* A pair of metro 4-pot calipers for vented discs
* 4 Mini ERA turbo caliper bolts
* A pair of metro drive flanges (you'll need to have the central wheel locating tabs machined flat to the mounting surface)
* A pair of standard fit Metro vented discs
* 8 hub bolts (from hub to disc) for a Metro. (I gotta be honest, I noticed the head size was different from a Minis, but I didn't measure the thread)
* A pair of "mini to metro" upgrade brake hoses
* A pair or new split pins for the hub nut (along with a huge torque wrench to tighten that nut!) )
* A pair of hubs/uprights from a disc equipped Mini. (and maybe bearings/swivel joints depending on condition)
One more thing (I forgot). If you're converting from drums, you'll need a disc type CV joint. The driveshaft is apparently fine as it is.

Reason for asking the use of rest of the metro parts is that if it would be possible, I'd made a another disc set-up from rest of the parts for my friend's mini which is currently on drum brakes.

Thanks for the tips though

Will they go on just in place of the mini ones. I'm not too worried about a vented setup with the proper compound pads available now.

Too bad that can't be done.. I've always thought that (most of the) mini and metro brake parts would be swappable..

I suppose if you're gonna be swapping onto his car, then you'll have the calipers, flanges and disks left over, so you'll need the hubs, cv joints, brake lines and some new fasteners.
I'm not convinced that the metro cvs can't be used, but i'm not 100% sure.
