Lovely!
I also had a brown clubman turbo...... But in a lot worse condition lol :)
Exactly the same colour though. However it is now black waiting to be rebuilt (I'll get round to it at some point!)

Turbos don't actually produce any boost untill they are under load, so the dump valve won't do anything whilst your revving it up standing still. Take it for a drive and it will work fine then

Dump valve should still work when you rev it, what boost is the turbo running?

Only if you hold it on high revs for a prolonged period, and the spring would have to be very weak.

It wouldn't need to be held at revs for too long, yeah it will need a fair few revs to build up some boost pressure in the system but it will still work if the turbo is spooling/ boosting as it should
