Aaaw don't sell it this things lovely:)

If you do sell it you will have to sell it with the V5 for it to be worth anything. Plus it's illegal..;)

The reg didn't come with the mini - it's been on several other family cars (mainly spitties & old MGs!), and it's my understanding the the DVLA have to give a suitable reg for the age of the car... am I wrong?

Yeah you will get an age related plate, and as thats not the original plate then I wouldnt worry too much, if it was the original it would probably be worth more on the car :)

I've got the log book :shifty:

And yes, it is lovely, but I'm not sure we could do it justice - the project on the forum left me drop-jawed!

But then again, look at that smile...

From the back it doesn't look bad!! ;).

Put some more pictures up of the rest of the car please!

That would be an awsome first car, awsome look, classy colour scheme and retro coolness;)

Hi..and welcome to TMF and enjoy your mk1 mini..........well if your worried about doing a full resto you need this book...... http://www.minisport...fo_HAYH440.html

it helped me through my first full resto.....I had bought an old cooper S beach racer back in 1987 and it took me 4 years to get it back on the road sourceing many orignal parts at mini30 in 1989........

Update:

Now have engine (998), front disc brakes, and er..another...er something, which makes the only issue the rust, the wheels, the interior, the sub-frame, the floor, the ambiance, fragrance, etc.

This upddate was brought to you by a blonde female.

I've been as specific as I can.

Will move to 'project' area tomorrow with more photos

its been in the family for 40 years, just fix it up!! :) you can either throw lots of cash at it and get it fixed by a garage or do a lot of it yourself and just pay for parts and sundries either way look at the smile lol :D

I'm not an anal kinda gal ;-)

And definitely not about drum brakes - have you seen what I did to a previous Mini with those things?  Ouch!!!

And talking about safety, there don't appear to be any seatbelts...

HAH!

Yeah definitely bugger off the drums. One important thing about the disc brakes. There are different sizes (the size is the size diameter of the brake disc. The brakes are completely different though). and you have to have 7.5' diameter disc brakes with corresponding set up to allow the 10 inch wheels to fit. In other words, if you want this mini to look right, you need these! Hopefully you got them!:P

Yeah no seatbelts needed. Even now your car doesn't have to have them.. Even for the MOT! I'd definitely fit some! You will have to weld in some mounts but this is no big job..
